OMG!

OMG! am I suffering Insomnia?

Insomnia, which is Latin for "no sleep," is the inability to fall asleep or remain asleep. Okay, honestly, I struggle for hours to get to sleep. no matter how tired I am. haihh. What's wrong with me? err..I woke up in the middle of the night and lie awake for hours, anxiously watching the clock. Some people say that Insomnia is a very common sleep problem. However, Insomnia takes a toll on energy, mood, and ability to function during the day. :( And also. chronic insomnia can even contribute to health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. WHOAA! so scary meh!

well, I guess I should changes to my lifestyle and daily habits can put a stop to sleepless nights. BUT still, I always try to identify all possible causes of my insomnia. hurm..Am I under a lot of stress? Uhm, perhaps. Am I depressed? Do I feel emotionally flat or hopeless? Uhm, maybe. Do I struggle with chronic feelings of anxiety or worry? OH YEAH! ofcourse! (worried about: our incoming PA results on the end of this April..wuhuu Wish me luck okay? xoxo! )

related to some articles that i've read, insomnia is usually tied to an underlying mental or physical issue. Such as:

Psychological problems that can cause insomnia: depression, anxiety, chronic stress, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder.

Medications that can cause insomnia: antidepressants; cold and flu medications that contain alcohol; pain relievers that contain caffeine (Midol, Excedrin); diuretics, corticosteroids, thyroid hormone, high blood pressure medications.

Medical problems that can cause insomnia: asthma( yes I got asthma), allergies, Parkinson’s disease(haha, not me), hyperthyroidism, acid reflux, kidney disease, cancer, or chronic pain.

Sleep disorders that can cause insomnia: sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome.

or maybe such habits that makes isomnia worse such as drinking a lot of caffeine, drinking before bed, taking naps during the day(sorry, not me) ,or an irregular sleep schedule, or maybe facebooking or blogging for hours?? hahaha!

however, i will try my best by Adopting new habits to help me sleep better. =)
